DIGITAL INFRARED THERMAL IMAGING
Digital Infrared Thermal Imaging
is an FDA approved, safe, painless, non-invasive screening test
that offers accurate, earlier detection of breast disease than has
been possible with breast self-exam or mammography alone.
KAKE-TV recently profiled thermography and its
effectiveness as a tool for early breast cancer detection.. Special
thanks to North
York Medical Thermography for providing the video below.

HOW AND WHY BREAST
SCREENING WORKS
Thermal Imaging is a test of physiology. It is based on detecting
the heat generated by new blood vessels and/or chemical changes
associated with a tumor's origin or growth. By recording infrared
heat from the body's surface, it detects subtle physiologic changes
that accompany breast pathology, whether it is cancer, fibrocystic
disease, mastitis, benign tumors, infection, or dysfunction.
Effective on Dense, Fibrous or Tender Tissue
No Danger to Breast Implants
No Compression
No Radiation

ANALYSIS The images to the right show the effectiveness of thermal
imaging. A history of cervical cancer prompted this patient to
have an initial thermal scan in November 2000.
The results of this scan were so alarming she
returned the next month for a follow up. These initial thermal
scans showed a region of highly suspicious activity in the left
breast which was also confirmed by mammogram.
This patient then chose thermography to monitor
her condition and implemented a pro-active series of lifestyle
changes. She modified her diet, adding raw, organic foods and
juices and specific nutritional supplements.
She reduced the level of stress in her
life and refocused her energies on health and well-being. Within
several months, the suspicious region showed dramatic improvement.
SCREENING GUIDELINES
Thermal imaging is useful for monitoring breast health over time
for women of all ages. In order to establish a baseline the first
images should be taken three months apart.
After this, breast screening is recommended:
Every 3 years for women 20-30 Years of Age
Every year for women 30 Years of Age & Over
